rong said he went through some of my old posts. (and by that i mean REAL old)

he mentioned a few which left an impression. so i thought, hey, why not i scan through my old posts? there was once dione told me she realised her blogging style became very different over the past few years. maybe i'd see a difference in mine too?

i should have just left the damn blog entries alone. because i realised that i have become a naggy old ah mah already. (alamak, see la you guys?! call me ah mah la... now really become ah mah already.)

my posts used to be short and sweet. at the most two or three paragraphs, and now?? i think can submit as gp essay and the examiners will hiam too long. hahaha. sheesh.

i should learn how to be precise and concise again.

oh well.... time to hit the sacks~!

anyway, went to sac for dinner last night since maria wanted to borrow foundation to cover up his pimples and take id pictures for his resume. haha. he says i'm like his make-up artist. erm... oh well. it's not hard to just apply concealor ma. not like i'm doing stage make-up for him or anything.

but anyway, i decided to post pictures of my handiwork. haha. maria's skin looked almost flawless okay?! i'm good... hahaha... okay la... i can't claim the entire credit. cos i know the strong lighting from the photo machine did most of the work... haha.

my mum's car crashed. i so expected it. sometimes even with me talking to her in the car, she can manage to doze off for a split second and the car swerves. it always scares the hell out of me. apparently the car crashed on monday when she was on the way home after bringing me soup. that's y i always insists that she calls me when she reached home but she never listens.

and she complains that even my auntie knows i always scold her for bringing me food. it's not that i don't appreciate it. i'm not a block of wood. of cos i know she dotes on me and pampers me. but i just don't want her to go to the trouble. esp since she's always dozing off at the wheel. i'm no longer a kid and i know how to take care of myself, but to mums, even if you are 50, you are still that baby that she held in her arms. haha. crap.

anyway, she refused to let me know the car crashed. i didn't know until my dad told me.

yesterday was my dad's birthday (well i guess yesterday's the word to use since it's already 3am) and my family came to take me out to dinner (or maybe supper? haha. my family always has dinner at 9+ or sometimes even later... blarh)

i already found it strange when i saw they came in my dad's car. it's much older than my mum's and they seldom drive it when the family goes out together. my dad only drives it to work. when i asked my mum, she only said her car broke down. then i asked her, but why? the car's quite new, less than 2 years old and it stalls? she replied me dunnoe, it doesn't want to start, maybe it doesn't like me and didn't want me to ride in it. yeah right. haha. i asked her, is the battery flat or something? then she said maybe no fuel... no "fuel" from her fat daughter. double crap... (see where i inherited my crappiness from??)

it was only on the way back to hall that my dad told me. and he's damn right. good thing it's only the car and my mum's alright. and to think when she called me on friday to brag about what food they had during family gathering at my grandparents', she said it's because she doesn't want me to scold her for bugging me that she's not bringing me food. yeah right, i've been scolding you for what? 4 years, and the final 2 weeks of hall life you finally listened? boy am i glad i made the decision to move home.

sometimes i wonder whether i'm plain stupid, or whether i really respect people's privacy as i claim. haha. or maybe i just don't bother to think about what people tell me. because i just dropped the whole issue though my mum's explaination was so ridiculous. i guess it's just so not me to be suspicious. maybe i'm too trusting. i just told rong and jiahong recently that i'm very easy to lie to so don't bluff me. haha. and then my own mum just lied right through her teeth. great. hey you guys, the fact that i trust you all doesn't mean you can keep bluffing me okay? bleahz... haha.

oh well, i guess it's all like my dad says, as long as my mum's safe. who cares about the car. but ouch to my dad's wallet. hahaha.

bad day...

i remember reading in one of the articles in the chronicles (for those who don't know, it's the ntu internal circular) that they dared the editorial team to go without some technological gadget for a week. someone got no emails, someone got no handphones, someone got no ipod.... they must be nuts...

i endured no laptop for 24 hours. sobz... felt sooo crippled. emily complained that she didn't see me post at all on fp, and even serene missed me. haha. sooo touched. =P rong complained that i didn't update my blog. aiyo rong... have you seen how i can don't post for months? haha...

brought my laptop to eightflags yesterday morning, stupid guy at the fujitsu service counter said he couldn't do anything and suggested i go to funan instead. GREAT. since i was going there, decided to head to bras basar to look for that tcm textbook that all the year 3s didn't have. if there's anywhere in singapore that i can find it i bet it was there.

when i got to funan, the guy said i could probably get it back within the day, unless i wanted to come back another day. woohoo! my heart leapt when i heard that. one night without my laptop and i wanted to die already. of course i was willing to wait to get it. but my eyes almost popped out when i was told that i had to pay $109 (before gst somemore) ouch... big burn in my pocket.

so while waiting, i walked to bras basar. i found TWO shops that sold the textbook i needed, but both of them told me sold out. humph. tough luck... then i found a third shop that has the book! correct publisher, correct title. BUT! the books they carried were the 1994 edition. growl. oh well... so i decided to head to bugis and see if i could buy an identical pair of ear studs that i lost. they were down to the last pair, but with defects. sigh. sobz.

no choice, walk back to funan. total cost of laptop repairs was $114.45 after gst. then i walked around (with my heavy bag and laptop.) to look for a thumbdrive since willie toh said it was cheaper to get a thumbdrive at funan. when i saw the prices i felt so cheated lor. spent $49 on my 2gb one (the one that i lost), when i only needed to spend $25 on my new 1gb one that is identical. the 2gb one only cost $42. growl. somemore the previous one was bought during one of the fairs in school, it was supposed to be cheaper than getting outside. humph.

so having spent the entire day walking and walking and walking (with my big heavy bag and my laptop), i was so tired that i totally dozed off on the train, sleeping like nobody's business. i hope there wasn't any cute guys from ntu in the same carriage as me. haha. else my image is totally gone.

poor princess was starved waiting for me to get dinner. yet she kept assuring me it was alright everytime i called to apologise. haha. so sweet of her. so after quickly grabbing dinner, i decided to take a cab. number one cause i was really tired, number two to get back to hall asap. stupid uncle had to totally piss me off. (shall not elaborate further seeing how extremely long winded i have been in today's post.)

and that sums up my totally lousy day. haha. bleah

i'm always amazed at how creative and patient the japanese are. who can manage to make that early in the morning before work/school?! esp for people like me, take hours in the kitchen to prepare one meal... haha =P

that thread made my fingers itch... feel like making bentos too. but nobody to share with leh... sobz ='( and i've never made a bento so i'm not sure if i can make a nice one too... been years since i last made sushi. mind you, sushi is damn troublesome to make.

but anyway, i made do with cooking fried rice for lunch. heehee. wanna see?

yummy. =P first time i cooked fried rice in hall though. still prefer doing it at home with my mum's wok. much easier than trying to stir the rice in my pathetic non-stick pan. all the rice keep flying out. haha. managed to make my rice "dance" though. quite surprised that was possible in the non-stick pan. i remembered my mum telling me once when i was very young that my grandfather said good fried rice is when the rice can "dance" in the wok. always prided my fried rice for being able to "dance" ever since. heehee. (sheesh, i sound like i'm showing off already =P)

Finally got to watch that show on Tuesday! It was a really nice show! Witty conversation, beautiful music. Just like Dione described. Watched it with Serene. Anyway, it was the first time I met Serene in person. So exciting! Serene says it was like a blind date, just that we were both girls. I was surprised how petite reen was. From her photos I always assumed her to be taller. Haha. Goes to show again how we shouldn't assume things. But Serene in person is as bubbly and chirpy as she is online... so cuuuute!! Haha. Too bad Rong couldn't join us. =P

Lost items??

I think I hold the record for losing the weirdest things in hall. Or at least most number of weird items in hall then. =S The past few years in hall, I've lost a soup ladle, a glass, undergarments, last acad year I lost a shoe bag, and this time, it's my TOWEL. Off the clothes-line somemore. Which weirdo will steal towels?? #$$^%&&*!@@# Can't believe it. Good thing I'm moving home le... no more weird things getting stolen... zzz

Kb has a very bad habit of not deleting msges in her inbox until it's flooded. So everytime I have to clear 4-500 msges at one go. Haha. But browsing through all the messages in my inbox again can be fun. Reading all those msges from my dearies really made my day today. Love you all loads!
